It was during a Zoom video call with employees of The New Yorker and the WNYC radio channel that 60-year-old Jeffrey Toobin appeared to masturbate to a picture, which Vice was the first to write about.

According to the New York Times, it happened during a pause in the editorial planning of the US presidential election, when Jeffrey Toobin had started another video call.

– I made an embarrassingly stupid mistake when I thought they didn’t see me in the photo. I apologize to my wife, my family and my colleagues, Toobin said in a statement.

Toobin is suspended from the New Yorker

He has now been suspended from his job at The New Yorker while the incident is investigated.

“I’m pretty sure Toobin didn’t understand that we could see him,” his colleague Masha Gessen told the New York Times.

According to the newspaper, the conversation continued as if nothing had happened.

Jeffrey Toobin is basically an attorney and has also had assignments as a legal commentator for CNN and ABC News. CNN reports that Toobin has asked for time off from work on the television channel.
