The health service may configure work with this year’s flu vaccine a little differently this year because of coronapanedmin. Stock Photography.
When this year’s campaign for influenza vaccination for people in risk groups begins soon, the country’s health centers will be forced to adopt new routines due to the corona pandemic, reports Swedish radio Ekot.
– Flu vaccination will be quite different this year so we will try to reach risk groups but not expose them to infection in small venues or crowds. It will take a lot more time and staff. We want to vaccinate more people than ever because we want the protective effect on as many people as possible this winter, says Stephan Stenmark, infection control doctor in Västerbotten, on the radio.
In addition, health regions have ordered an additional quantity of flu vaccine for the winter, in an attempt to reduce the pressure on healthcare that is at risk of being burdened by patients with influenza and coronary heart disease.
– It is very important that you get vaccinated, especially if you belong to a risk group or are health and care personnel, to avoid getting infected twice during the same winter period, says Mia Brytting, head of unit of the Public Health Agency, to Ekot.
