New Hate Tree Attack: At least 27 trees in the Old Graveyard damaged
Someone has carved the bark of trees on the Gamla kyrkogården avenue in central Malmö. Since November 9, some 40 trees have suffered similar damage in Kungsparken, Slottsparken and Pildammsparken.
It is unclear who is damaging the trees in Malmö.
It is not yet clear who or what is delivered to the trees in Malmö. The latest vandalism, which one of Sydsvenskan employees noticed on Christmas Day, has not been reported to the police.
But at least 27 trees on the avenue of the old cemetery along Gustav Adolf’s have been damaged by bark.
As on previous occasions, it is the young trees that have been affected. When Sydsvenskan wrote about the problem on December 1, it was Mattias Thelander, a landscape engineer from the city of Malmö.
Each new tree costs a little more than 20,000 to plant, tie and care.
