Skåne is at risk of peaking over the Christmas weekend regarding the number of covid patients in hospitals in the region, Sydsvenskan reports.

The forecast comes from the Skåne Region, which has developed three hospital burden scenarios for the coming months. In the worst case, the curve reaches its maximum point at the end of December with 250 patients with covid admitted and another 30 with IVA.

The worst-case estimates are based on the situation in Stockholm this spring, but the reality curve is already climbing higher.

– Yes, and unfortunately we cannot say with certainty that we have broken the curve. We hope that the strict general guidelines for Skåne will lead to that, but we don’t know, says Mats E Persson, head of crisis management staff for the Skåne Region, to the newspaper.
