House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has ended up in bad weather after being seen without a mouth guard in connection with a visit to a hairdresser.

Pelosi himself describes the whole thing as “a trap.”

– I take responsibility for the fact that I walked in and that’s all I have to say about it.

For more than six months, San Francisco hairdressers have been banned from cutting and styling their clients inside salons due to the corona pandemic.

Last week, San Francisco Mayor London Breed announced that hairdressers could open their businesses starting Tuesday, but then outdoors.

Despite this, a surveillance film shows how the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, a strong advocate for the rules of the crown, already visited a hairdresser where she cut her hair, inside on Monday.

The film also shows how Pelosi moves around the salon without a mouth guard, even though it is required in public settings.

“Hypocrisy”

The incident has provoked strong reactions, especially from Republicans who accuse the Democratic representative of hypocrisy.

“Pelosi himself has followed a policy that shuts down our economy and forces small business owners to close again. But she herself visits a salon whenever she wants, “wrote a Republican senator on Twitter according to the Washington Post.

Pelosi’s staff has come out to defend the visit, saying the president just followed the rules.

“The president always wears a mask and complies with the local requirements for covid,” spokeswoman Drew Hill told the newspaper, adding that Pelosi only lowered the mask for a short time when she washed her hair.

Pelosi also defends the fact herself, saying that she and the salon, which she has visited several times in recent years, agreed in advance that she would be allowed to come, with the guarantee that she would be alone in the room.

It was then that the salon stated that it had an agreement with the city.

Pelosi says she made a mistake when she trusted the hairdresser.

“I got into the trap”

During a press conference Wednesday, Pelosi admitted that she made a mistake in trusting the salon.

– It turned out to be a trap. I take responsibility for addressing it and that’s all I have to say about it, says Pelosi.

According to the salon owner, one of his employees must have texted him on Sunday saying Pelosi had booked an appointment and would be coming the next day. This is because Nancy Pelosi’s regular hairdresser was prevented from visiting her at home.

“It was a slap in the face that she just walked in. That she feels like she can come and do things while no one else can,” Erica Kious told Fox News, the news channel that first showed the surveillance film.
