There have been strong protests in Myanmar since the country’s leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, was arrested on February 1 after a military coup.
After the coup, tens of thousands of protesters demanded the release of Suu Kyi and urged the military junta to resign.
The army responded by shutting down the Internet and displaying military propaganda on the state-controlled MRTV television channel.
On Saturday, three people were shot dead after demonstrating against the military, marking the deadliest day so far since the military coup.
Now the outside world is reacting.
“I condemn the deadly violence in Myanmar. The use of deadly force, threats and harassment against peaceful protesters is unacceptable. Everyone has the right to tranquility. I urge everyone to respect the election results and return to civil government“UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres wrote on Twitter.
According to information from the news agency AFP so the EU is ready to impose sanctions on the country to try to get rid of the military junta.
