Mustafa Kucukovic, 34, has been arrested in a bust against drug trafficking.
According to German Bild, the former striker is said to have sold around 230 kilos of marijuana in a month last year.
Mustafa Kucukovic was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina but grew up in Germany.
In the early 2000s, a 19-year-old forward made his Bundesliga debut with Hamburger SV, where there were a total of five innings for a great high-performance German team back then.
Since then, Kucukovic has represented clubs such as Olympiakos Nicosia, Grenoble later in Ligue 1 and Hansa Rostock before in 2017 choosing to hang his shoes on the birch.
There were also a couple of youth internationals for Germany.

Away from football, he is now 34 years old and has gotten into trouble with the law.
The German daily Bild reports that Kucukovic was arrested in Gelsenkirchen on Wednesday in an anti-drug bust.
The 34-year-old is suspected of selling 230 kilograms of marijuana, 50 kilograms of cocaine and 30 kilograms of hashish during the period April-May 2020. The drugs are said to have been sold in and around Hamburg.
Estimated street value: approximately SEK 100 million.
