This summer, BK Häcken sold left-back Leonard Zuta to Italian Lecce. Yesterday, BK Häcken finished with Nikola Gulan as the new left-back. Gulan has experience in Serie A and the 31-year-old Serbian is directly attached to a contract that extends the season.
But at the same time as Gulan comes in, Häcken also has Adam Andersson as an alternative for the left-back position, but not for as long as it seems.
Andersson has a contract that expires after the season and, according to him, it does not appear that he will stay in Hisingen.
– What I prefer is to play soccer. That is the only thing. Is there another club that has a better plan for me than Häcken? Then I’ll learn to get on that train. But I have absolutely not closed any doors on Häcken. It depends on what they want Andersson tells GP.
Andersson says the partners are no longer talking about a contract extension at this time. He goes on to explain that it doesn’t feel optimal.
– It’s kind of like it is. It’s a strange seat for me with outgoing contracts. I have had the opportunity to go out in several windows, but then Häcken has slowed it down. There have been clubs with specific offers and interest in various windows. Most recently this summer.
They will be clubs from Norway, Germany and Denmark, among others, but Häcken has wanted more money than they offered him. Now you can lose Andersson for free if you don’t agree to a new deal and give the 23-year-old clarity on what the plan is for him.
When asked about the future of Adam Andersson, Häcken’s assistant sports director Martin Ericsson says it’s not much more than Andersson himself has said.
– At present, we have no other agreement than the one that extends until the New Year. We’ll see what happens, Ericsson tells GP.
