Half an hour to play.
Then Muamer Tanković demanded to be replaced.
– Fuck, replace me, he was heard saying on the Dplay broadcast.
Hammarby got off to a good start against the last team Helsingborg. In the twelfth minute, they took the lead 1-0. It was Imad Khalili who pushed in an easy return after Muamer Tanković’s shot hit the crossbar, post, goal line and post (!).
– “Mujo” gets a perfect hit. So it’s just to show up there around the corner, Khalili says.
Tankovic replaced
With half an hour to go, at Hammarby’s 2-1 position after goals from Max Svensson and Aron Jóhannsson, Tanković refocused.
Suddenly he sat down on the grass and demanded to be replaced.
– Replace me, man. Minute 60 and you keep playing with me. Fuck, change me. Get out of here, he was heard saying on the Dplay broadcast.
– Obviously it was a cramp, they said in the TV studio, but I have no idea, I haven’t talked to him, says Hammarby’s coach, Stefan Billborn, after the game. It was quick, it came out of nowhere.
He was pretty clear that he wanted to be replaced sooner, was that something you talked about?
– No, we haven’t talked about that before.
Tankovic never showed up for an interview after the game.
Important matches
Hammarby faces Lech Poznan in the Europa League qualifier on Wednesday, followed by a derby against AIK on Sunday.
Against HIF, both Gustav Ludwigson and Paulinho sat on the bench throughout the match.
– I’m not a doctor. Paulinho probably could have participated a bit, but it wasn’t worth the risk. Ludwigsson was a big no-no, says Billborn.
When asked if there are any dangers before the European Games, he says:
– I do not know. We’ll see when we go in tomorrow. But we probably have a good team against Poznan.
The match ended 2-2.
