The spread of the corona virus has created medical chaos in Moscow.

For Reuters, an ambulance driver tells me that he waited 15 hours in line to get to the hospital emergency room.

“We are only at the beginning of this curve, not even in the middle,” says Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

Outside Chimki Hospital, in the northwestern suburbs of Moscow, white ambulances are lined up. At one point, up to 45 were filmed online, all to drop in patients with coronary infection.

Similar visions have been filmed and filmed in all Moscow hospitals as the spread of the coronavirus increases at an increasingly dramatic rate. The latest figures report 15,770 confirmed infected and 130 deaths, but the rate is expected to rise faster.

– I can say one thing for sure, there has not yet been a peak in the curve, we are only at the beginning, says the mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

“Huge influx”

Moscow is the hardest hit, but even St. Petersburg medical care is in “emergency.”

– There is a large influx of patients. We see hospitals in Moscow working extremely intensively, in a heroic emergency, says Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, according to Reuters.

To cope with the pressure, a completely new hospital in Moscow, exclusively for patients with a crown, is planned to open, built in just one month at a cost of 1.1 billion. According to the Daily Mail, it is one of eighteen emergency-built hospitals across the country, the only one that has not been built by the military, but by 10,000 24-hour construction workers.
