The mother’s covid-19 vaccine was expected to be approved in the EU on Monday evening, but the European Medicines Agency (EMA) announces that it will not make a decision overnight, the EMA writes on Twitter.
“The EMA Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) discussion on the modern Covid-19 vaccine has not ended today. It will continue on Wednesday 6 January 2021. No further comment will be given today,” the EMA wrote.
After a possible approval, it is up to the European Commission to give the green light.
– It took two hours last time, says Sweden’s vaccine coordinator Richard Bergström.
According to the Institute for Health and Welfare, a positive decision on Moderna’s sales permit may pay off next week.
– If Moderna already gets the green light this week, we can expect around 10,000 doses of the company’s corona vaccine to be shipped to Finland per week, starting in a few days. There has been no talk of more than that, says the leading expert Mia kontio at the Institute of Health and Welfare to the SPT news agency.
