Police have launched a major search operation north of Skellefteå after a 53-year-old woman was missing for more than a day.
– The woman was last seen yesterday and has been reported missing by her relatives. We assume you need it and are concerned about danger to life and health, says David Levy, an officer on duty in the Västerbotten police region.
The woman’s car was found in a ditch along Highway 861 north of Skellefteå. From there, the search effort is currently building.
– There are missing persons on the way and several dog patrols. We have a helicopter that could not take off due to the weather, but we use drones. We will also request additional resources from the Armed Forces, says David Levy.
Police currently do not suspect any crime behind the disappearance.
The woman is 53 years old, 162 centimeters tall with short, medium brown hair, and at the time of her disappearance she was wearing a medium-length black winter jacket.
– If you have information or have seen the woman, you can call the police, says David Levy.
