Lionel Messi accepted the situation and announced that he would stay in Barcelona.
But the superstar has yet to show up for Saturday’s training with the big club.
Although Lionel Messi remains in Barcelona, he was not present for training at the Joan Gamper team facilities on Saturday morning.
While a number of stars are on national team assignments and therefore missing, several A players showed up for training, including left-back Jordi Alba and Brazilian forward Philippe Coutinho. But not Messi.
The Argentine superstar announced this Friday that he will be forced to stay at the club and accused President Josep Maria Bartomeu of having betrayed his promise to let him leave Barcelona.

The news came ten days after Messi declared that he wanted a new club. But Barcelona took a hard line, claiming that the star’s contract included a release clause of 700 million euros, which he must pay for him to leave. The club received the support of the Spanish league association and Messi had to surrender.
On Sunday, Messi failed the mandatory coronation test that required him to return to training with the team and, according to local media, he must therefore undergo a test and test negative in order to train.
One of the people he will be allowed to train with is former Swedish national team star Henrik Larsson, who was recently appointed assistant coach under new head coach Ronald Koeman.
