Ghislaine Maxwell, a former partner and close ally of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, demands that an appeals court in the United States overturn a judge’s decision to release an affidavit from her.
Maxwell, 58, was arrested in July by the FBI in New Hampshire. It is suspected that she “provided” Epstein with girls as young as 14, who then exploited sexually.
Removing the confidentiality of the 481-page presentation means negative publicity that jeopardizes a fair trial, claims the former British company Lion, referring to “intimate, sensitive and personal” information.
One of Epstein’s loudest accusers, Virginia Giuffre, believes the public has a right to hear Maxwell’s written testimony. Giuffre accuses Maxwell of helping Epstein keep her a “sex slave.”
