Maxim Cajkovic moved to Sweden as a teenager to play for the Malmö Redhawks youth team. He spent a total of two seasons in Sweden before moving to Canada and the QMJHL youth league, where he has played since.

Now, however, Slovak talent has ended in a real storm.

Hockey Sweden claims that Cajovic, according to Slovak media, has lost his temper during an internal match with the youth team and has delivered several dangerous tackles. This, in turn, has led the league to make the decision to exclude Cajovic from the JVM squad.

Maxim Cajkovic: “I apologize”

The union justifies the decision in a statement:

In Friday’s training match he was unsportsmanlike on several occasions, leading to harsh interventions against the teammates he played against, far beyond the limits of what can be considered reasonable. This behavior cannot be tolerated and therefore the coaching staff has agreed that Maxim Cajkovic should be excluded from the team. “

Cajkovic himself feels remorse for his actions.

– I apologize for what happened. I realize that my behavior was not right and I accept and respect the consequences that it has had now, it says in a statement.
