BRUKSVALLARNA. Max Novak barked and won the male premiere.
But now he can be punished in hindsight after he revealed on Sportbladet that he invested money in the second race, William Poromaa.
– The regulations are very clear, says length manager Daniel Fåhraeus to Radiosporten.
On gleaming skis, Max Novak took a real landslide victory at the Bruksvallarna premiere of the classic 15 kilometers.
Afterwards, he revealed to Sportbladet that he himself firmly believed in second place William Poromaa as the winner before the start. So hard that he invested money in it.
– He has looked strong and I could not play alone because of what is a pass for gaming companies, he says and regretted that he himself was not among the alternatives.
– It’s sad actually. I’ll see if I do more or less on this now, if there is any prize money, he said with a twinkle in his eyes.
“I’ve never seen anything like it”
But now length manager Daniel Fåhraeus tells Radiosporten that Max Novak is at risk of being punished for his play.
– You should not do that. It’s a very clear set of rules that RF has. You cannot participate in a bet where you can influence the outcome, this applies to everyone involved and also to the leaders. It is also stated in the ski association competition rules which are based on Fi regulations that we all have the same attitude, he says.
But it is not clear exactly what consequences the action may have. The competition jury has chosen to enlist Fis’s help in solving the regulations.
– I have never experienced anything like this before and we have to consult with Fis how such a thing should be handled, says competition director Mikaela Sundbaum in a text message to Sportbladet last night.
