Mattias Falck has already lost to Xu Xin four times (2010, 2015, 2017, 2019).

He is now the third European to defeat the 30-year-old Chinese world number two.

After winning the first two sets, Xu Xin was clearly better in the third and won 11-2, but Mattias Falck rallied and took home the victory after 11-8 in the fourth set.

One of the games of his life

Victory is a great sensation in the ping pong world and Mattias Falck has shown brilliant form throughout the tournament.

– I feel in very good shape and played aggressively, I’ve had a bad time with his serve and his attacks before. It’s one of the best games I’ve ever played, they are the highest ranked players I’ve won against, says Mattias Falck.

After the third victory in the Table Tennis World Cup, Mattias Falck is now in the semi-finals, where the winner is the Chinese winner Chuqin Wang (twelfth in the world ranking) and the Brazilian Hugo Calderano (sixth in the world ranking) .

– It feels great to be up there, these are important games on the international stage. It’s a bit of work now with booking changes, we had planned to go, says Mattias Falck.

“Dangerous for the operating system”

In April 2019, Mattias Falck won big after taking silver at the World Cup in Budapest, he now ranks eighth in the world rankings.

With him in Macau, Mattias Falck has his coach and ping pong legend Jörgen Persson, the equally great legend that Mikael Appelgren has supported over the phone.

– This and the World Cup final is the biggest thing that has happened to Swedish ping-pong in 20 years. He has such a strong psyche and a winning skull that he never gives up. This gives you a lot of money and good seed points for the Tokyo Olympics this summer, it will be dangerous at the Olympics, says “The Apple.”

The total prize money at World Table Tennis is US $ 800,000, Mattias Falck has played US $ 32,500 (approximately SEK 277,000) so far in the tournament.
