Former Maskeradigan leader Mats Rimdahl, 64, has been arrested on suspicion of preparing for robbery and felony firearms.

During the 1980s and 1990s, he and the league carried out a series of robberies disguised as police officers.

He is said to have forged identity documents and has now been detained by prosecutors in Borlänge.

During the 80s and 90s, the costume league carried out several robberies disguised as policemen. Rimdahl was sentenced to seven days in prison. He was released in 1996.

Since then, he has been involved in a number of new crimes. Among other things, he was sentenced to several years in prison after being involved in a drug scandal in 2013. He was arrested in Helsingborg, also this time disguised as a police officer in a car equipped with integrated blue lights and three antennas to look like a civil police car. Even then, Rimdahl had forged a police ID with a photo of himself, but with a name as a commissioner of the National Police Board, according to information from Aftonbladet.
