Martin Johnsrud Sundby continues to suffer from serious back problems. On Saturday he had to settle for a 40th place and Sunday’s race could not complete.
– It’s the same story. I have had this problem for a year. It’s incredibly frustrating, says Sundby, 36.

– It’s like someone is stabbing me in the lower back. I can’t use my powers. I don’t squat, my legs take all the power. This could potentially threaten my career.
– It can’t go on like this. We have to fix this, otherwise I will be out of luck. It just gets depressed, he says.
Sundby who took the World Cup gold at Seefeld 2019 he was pushed by the Norwegian national team for the next season. Together with Niklas Dyrhaug, he has started his own team.
– I have to start over from scratch. The next objective is the Norwegian championship (which takes place in January). It will be extremely important considering the World Cup. I have to reboot and I don’t have time for that.
