– When Marilyn Manson couldn’t make it work on the schedule, we decided to cut that part of the story, because no one would have had that role in the same way as him, says the director, adding that he hopes to collaborate with Manson in the future.
Together with artist Shooter Jennings, Marylin Manson had recorded a version of The Doors song “The end”, which would have been used in the series, but in the end the film company could not afford to buy the rights.
“The Time of the Plague” was published by Stephen King in 1978. It is about a future in which an experiment went wrong and an aggressive virus began to spread around the world. The novel was filmed as a miniseries in 1994.
