The alarm about the work accident in Hörbyföretaget arrived at 11 o’clock, and the police, ambulance and rescue service were dispatched to the scene.
– He’s a man who got stuck in a tank with bitumen when he was going to do some kind of maintenance. It’s a closed tank with a manhole, says Joel Johansson.
– It went down there and stuck to the waist. We are trying to get rid of it, but the tank has been in and has moved; bitumen solidifies when the temperature drops.
No respiratory problems
According to the rescue service, the man should not have had trouble breathing, although he is inside a closed tank with binder.
– We have been prepared to help you with your breathing but it has not been necessary. He’s in a good mood but starting to burn out, says Joel Johansson at 1:45 PM.
– We have made a hole in the side of the tank with an angle grinder to be able to remove it. Bitumen will remain that we will have to remove. There will surely be a check-up at the hospital.
Since the police handle the case as a work accident, the circumstances should be investigated to see if anything prosecuted has occurred.
