The police were alerted at 8:30 p.m. by several people. The 45-year-old man was taken by ambulance to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but shortly after midnight, the police announced that the man’s life had not been saved.

– We have a good picture of how this has come about. The plaintiff does not appear to have had a part in how this came about, says police spokesman Ola Österling.

Police have not previously had any important knowledge of the deceased.

– It is relatively unknown to us since before, says Ola Österling.

A preliminary investigation into the murder was launched. A major police operation was carried out in the area during the afternoon and early evening, where both the canine patrol and the police helicopter assisted in the search for the perpetrator.

– The vast majority of patrols are looking for the perpetrator who committed this and who left the place on foot according to witnesses, said Ola Österling during the evening.

At 01:30 a large part of the external police operation was completed. No suspect has yet been arrested.

– This has been the biggest effort we have had during the weekend. In principle, all the skills that the Stockholm Police have had have been in service, says Ola Österling.

The man’s relatives have been notified.
