Man shot dead in Borås | GP

Police received the alarm about a shooting near Borås University shortly before 7 pm on Tuesday.

– Several people called after hearing shots and saw that a man was lying on the ground. When the ambulance and police arrived at the scene, they found the man on the ground, says Peter Adlersson, a police spokesman for the western region.

The man was rushed by ambulance to hospital where he was found dead. His relatives have been notified overnight.

Adlersson says there is information that a car is involved in the act.

Large number of police patrols on site

– There are a large number of police patrols in place, and also helicopters and dog patrols.

The police have cordoned off a large area and a large police operation is underway at the site. During the night, a technical investigation is carried out at the crime scene. There will be several witnesses and the police are conducting questioning with them at the scene.

According to information from GP, the deceased is already known to the police. Currently, the police have not arrested anyone after the event, which is classified as murder.

A couple of years ago, the man who was shot and killed was subjected to an assassination attempt when he was shot multiple times and shot. In district court, a man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the incident. The man was fully cleared of the suspicions after the verdict was appealed to the Court of Appeal.
