The alarm about the attack came shortly after 6 pm Police received information that there had been an alleged cut with a knife at the Swedish Exhibition Center in Gothenburg.
At the scene, the police found a man wounded with a knife. He was on the steps of the fair.
– It happened just outside the fair, it was not inside, says Göran Carlbom, duty officer of the police.
Several witnesses and even the victim were able to point to an alleged perpetrator, who could also be arrested. A knife has been seized.
Taken to hospital – seriously injured
The man is seriously injured and has been stabbed in the abdomen. They took him to Sahlgrenska by ambulance.
According to the Sahlgrenska press service, this is a man in his 50s. His condition is serious but stable.
It is not yet clear what caused the attack.
– We haven’t gotten that far. We first collect the interviews with the witnesses and then we watch them, says Göran Carlbom.
A preliminary investigation has been launched with the title of extremely serious assault.
