A 65-year-old man has died in connection with a traffic accident between a light truck and a heavy truck.
– It appears to be the case that the driver, who died, of the smaller truck, headed straight for the back of a larger truck. He was injured so badly that he died, says Göran Carlbom, an officer on duty for the police in the western region.
The accident occurred at 8.30pm on Thursday night on the E6 in Stora Höga in Stenungsund Municipality. For several hours, there was a total stop on the southbound highway. But at two in the evening, it was reported that traffic was running again.
The police have launched a preliminary investigation for negligence in traffic.
– You must have a criminal classification to carry out the investigative proceedings, be able to seize vehicles and more. Most of the time, in accidents like this, it is a matter of negligence in traffic, says Göran Carlbom.
The police suspect that in this case it may be a speed calculation error.
The driver of the larger truck was not physically injured in the incident, but is said to be in shock.
