A 45-year-old man died after being stabbed outside a grocery store in Rissne, Sundbyberg Township.

He was taken by ambulance to the hospital on Saturday night, but could not be rescued.

According to information from Aftonbladet, the police are looking for a perpetrator in a red jacket.

The man, who was 45 years old, was found with life-threatening injuries at 8:31 p.m. on Saturday night outside Hemköp in Rissne, Sundbyberg municipality. He must have been injured from a stabbing attack.

The police have cordoned off the area.

– The assessment is that it is an assassination attempt and the injury situation is life-threatening, says Ola Österling, press spokesperson for the Stockholm Police initially.

They took him to the hospital by ambulance, but his life could not be saved.

The crime scene was cordoned off and a large police force with, among other things, dogs and a helicopter searched for the perpetrator, who is said to have left the scene on foot after the fact.

According to information from Aftonbladet, the perpetrator was wearing a red jacket.

Family members are notified.
