It was at 11 o’clock on Wednesday morning when police were alerted about a forest in Skarpnäck, south of Stockholm.
When a patrol arrived at the scene, a dead man was found.
On their website, the police announced the same day that the person had not yet been identified and that a preliminary investigation into the murder had been launched.
On Thursday afternoon the body is identified.
– The man is identified. He is over 30 years old and his family members have been notified. You have been the victim of a serious crime. I can’t be more specific than that, says Anders Bryngelsson, press spokesman for the Stockholm Police.
Shot in the back of the head
The case is still being investigated as a murder.
According to information from Expressen, the man was killed with a shot in the neck.
The man is written in an address in the south of Stockholm. He had previously been convicted of several crimes, but according to information to Expressen, the police did not know him at the time of his death because he was linked to a serious crime.
Currently, no one has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
– The technical investigation and interrogation have begun, and that work now progresses during the day, says Anders Bryngelsson.
