A man in his 50s was killed in a single accident on Highway 83 on the outskirts of Ånge. Another man in the car was taken to the hospital, but was conscious when an ambulance arrived at the scene.
The accident happened around 2.30pm on Friday and the Ånge and Sundsvall rescue services were involved in the work. It is not yet clear how the accident occurred, but the Swedish Transport Administration warns on its website about accumulated snow on the road on the section where the accident occurred.
– No one saw the accident, but the caller saw a car lying on the roof of the gutter. They stopped and turned because of the car’s rumble, but no one saw them as they went off the road, says Lars Rydstedt, the internal commander of the rescue service.
