A man in his 35s was found injured in the Skönsberg district of Sundsvall at 7.30pm on Monday night. The man was taken to hospital, but his life could not be saved. The police are investigating the murder.
We are working on the hypothesis that the man was shot and that it is a murder case, says Maria Linné at the police command center in the northern region.
Several people must have been seen leaving the scene in connection with the incident. A major police operation has started to find out what has happened. Police are interrogating and knocking on doors in the area. The site is cordoned off and a technical investigation will be conducted.
Our view of the case today is that it is an isolated incident linked to the criminal environment. The assessment is that there is no danger to the public, says Maria Linné.
