Eight years later, a man is on trial in Gothenburg District Court on suspicion of murder.
“It is highly unusual for an eight-year murder to be prosecuted. This preliminary investigation would never have been possible without international cooperation,” Chief Prosecutor Daniel Edsbagge says in a press release.
Behind the accusation there is an extensive investigative work. The truck trailer could be found at Hisingen in Gothenburg shortly after the event. Through secured clues in the trailer and the cargo, a man has been linked to the murder.
At the request of In several European countries, it turned out that there were prints from the suspect’s palm in records in France and Great Britain. Through identification, it has been possible to link the man to the footprint of the stolen goods.
The prosecutor believes that the act was carried out by several people, but has only been able to identify one person. The man denies the crime.
