Over and over again, the 24-year-old hit his girlfriend with a baseball bat and shoehorn, causing her to suffer eleven fractures. He then prohibited her from calling an ambulance and left her seriously injured for 24 hours, according to the indictment. The 24-year-old is now on trial for extremely serious assault.

Police and an ambulance were alerted to the couple’s apartment on August 13, after the 24-year-old finally let the woman call SOS.

The 24-year-old met the patrol at the door and opened it. He said he had found his girlfriend seriously injured in the house the night before, that “she had been tortured and she must have deserved it.”

Paramedics found the seriously injured woman in bed. He didn’t want to say what happened, but he also used expressions that “he deserved it.”

This was enough for the patrol to arrest the 24-year-old. Since then, he has been locked up in a cell at the legal center.

The woman was found to have eleven fractures: including a tibia, both hands, feet, and several ribs. 3.5 months after the incident, he is still in a wheelchair.

During the police investigation, the woman told what the boyfriend exposed her to at home.

– It started when they woke up on August 12. Then it’s on. The most serious violence takes place later in the evening, says courtroom prosecutor Helena Lundström.

The 24-year-old man is said to have sued the woman in response to an alleged infidelity. This ultimately led to him being subjected to several hours of assault – hitting baseball bats and shoe horns and pulling parts of the woman’s hair, according to the indictment.

Prosecutor Helena Lundström has chosen to prosecute the 24-year-old for the unusual classification of extremely serious assault, where the penalty scale is 4 to 10 years in prison.

– I decided that after receiving the medical examiner’s statement on the severity of the injuries. Since you are still in a wheelchair, you meet the permanent damage requirement. He hasn’t been able to walk in a long time, he says.

The 24-year-old boyfriend throughout the preliminary investigation has denied any wrongdoing and has claimed that another person abused his girlfriend. He has 5-10 names of people he suspects and has passed them on to the police.

But the researchers don’t believe him.

The evidence against the 24-year-old includes that he sent a letter from prison to an acquaintance in which he writes that what he did to his girlfriend “is disgusting on all levels” and that he is waiting four years in prison.

In addition to the bride’s designation, several of her relatives testify about how the 24-year-old behaved during their relationship. Neighbors will also be questioned during the trial about what they heard from the couple’s apartment that night.

In addition to the August 12 incident, the 24-year-old is also accused of having abused his girlfriend on a previous occasion, and two cases of assault against his sister.
