– There is great material damage with about 40 apartments affected. The entrance also has significant damage, says Magnus Lefèvre, a police officer on duty.
The explosion occurred at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday night. Nobody was hurt.
– It seems that it happened from the outside, but it is not clear where exactly something explosive went, says Lefèvre.
A resident of the area Whoever is talking to DN says he woke up from a “giant explosion”.
– My balcony window broke and I have a lot of glass there. It is my apartment and many others that have broken windows. The entrance to the house next door is completely gone, he says.
– I also heard a car that was going very fast, but I did not have time to see it.
Pump technicians and forensic technicians is in place. There was no fire and it is not considered a landslide hazard.
A gathering place for residents has been opened at a nearby high school. It is unclear when they can re-enter the home.
– The approximately 40 people who spontaneously escaped were allowed into the school cafeteria. Those who did not escape were allowed to stay in their apartments and lock the doors. It is assumed that the explosion occurred from the outside and that there is no danger of staying on the property, says Ronny Lundgren of the Skåne Nordväst rescue service.
According to Lundgren, there are three houses in the same residential area that have been damaged.
– In a house, the entrance is completely destroyed, there is practically nothing left, and the entire door section has fallen off.
The incident is classified as general destruction. There is no suspect.
– Of course, we are working to draw a map if there is any image of the motif, says Lefèvre.
