On Thursday, Maria Malmer Stenergard, spokeswoman for immigration policy (M), presented eight proposals that the party wants to carry out so that more people are expelled. The moderates believe that these proposals would lead to countering people who end up in a shadow society.
Among the proposals are who want to introduce an information duty for municipalities and authorities. The Swedish Migration Agency and the Police Authority will be informed when a person who does not have a residence permit is found.
– Today we know that the authorities and municipalities are aware of people who are staying here illegally, but still avoid reporting to the Swedish Immigration Board. It must be the task of all authorities to fight against this shadow society, says Maria Malmer Stenergard.
The moderates also want more foreigners to be deported for crimes.
– Today a penalty of one year in prison is required, but we suggest that it must be in prison, so 14 days are enough to be able to obtain that punishment, says Maria Malmer Stenergard and continues:
– Also, less attention should be paid to the connection. Today, there are many who, after all, have to stay because they have established a connection with Sweden. If, for example, you have committed a violation, you have also exhausted your right to Swedish society.
