Ulf Kristersson’s solution to the problem of people who are registered where they don’t live in Sweden is a national census. On September 10, the party will put a committee initiative on the tax committee to conduct a census.
– It must be a real census. The Swedish Revenue Agency has estimated that there are between 200,000 and 300,000 people registered at addresses where they do not live. At the same time, other estimates show that profit crime has generated many billions of crowns in these cases. I think it is enough to conclude that we must do a new census and we will present it as a proposal on September 10, when we demand that the Riksdag decide on a new census.
“Big operation”
The last time a national census was carried out in Sweden was in 1990. Ulf Kristersson does not believe that it is enough for the Swedish Revenue Agency to carry out registration checks from the counter, but it is necessary to knock on doors and investigate what contributions are collected.
– It’s quite a big operation, but given the economic and more moral values at stake, it’s worth doing that census, says Ulf Kristersson.
