The moose has been roaming badly injured for several weeks.

This upsets Sanna Lundell and her neighbors, who have tried in vain to get the moose killed.

– It is obvious that it does not feel well, says to him to Aftonbladet.

It was on Instagram that Sanna lundell, 41, wrote for the first time about the elk.

Along with a photo of the wounded moose, he writes that neither the police, the county administrative board nor the Nynäshamn municipality want to send a ranger who can shoot the moose.

“Of course he suffers. Of course he needs help to end his life.”

Sanna Lundell, who lives on a farm in Norra Sorunda in the countryside between Stockholm and Nynäshamn, tells Aftonbladet that the moose has been seen by the village for several weeks.

– The elk is seriously injured and we and several neighbors of mine and also hunters have called the police and the County Administrative Board to try to get a ranger who can help this elk, just shoot him.

Many annoying

But then the police have told him that the person in charge in Nynäshamn municipality has assessed that the moose is not suffering enough to be shot.

– He walks around here in our densely populated areas, it is obvious that it does not feel well and it is not so good to meet a moose like that, I think, that is so badly injured, says Sanna Lundell.

Many are upset by the fate of the moose, and famous profiles like Jill johnson, Carolina gynning Y Titti schultz has commented on the post.

The moose has likely been affected by moose flies and may later have injured itself with its antlers when it tried to scratch itself. It has caused large wounds and the flies have deposited larvae in the wound area.

“We are tied”

Jonas lundh at the wildlife management team in Nynäshamn tells Aftonbladet there is nothing they can do about it.

– We are subject to section 40c of the Hunting Ordinance. We have a moose, a ten-tagger, which accompanies the attacks from behind. Most likely there are elk flies there, it looks very horrible there on the back. Of course, the public wants us to go there and kill him because he looks so sick, and I understand that. It’s just that if we do that, we’re going against the law because moose hunting season doesn’t start until Monday, he says.

I spoke to the landlord

In short, the section means that no one can hunt to kill the animal. However, if you find the animal, you can assess that the moose is so injured that it needs to be killed. It is the person who performs the act who has the responsibility and must communicate and be able to justify why it was a necessary act and why the support of the section is taken.

We, as rangers, have absolutely nothing to do with this, it is the landowner himself who must decide if he has 100% of the section’s support and wants to use it. I spoke to the landlord this morning and explained this to him, that you can use the paragraph if you feel that it is completely waterproof and that you are one hundred percent sure that this moose will die from its injuries and that you want to kill the moose. suffering, says Jonas Lundh.

Can be killed before

Since this particular elk is a ten-tagger, the owner should speak with the elk management area and its chairman in the township, as the group decided that the hunting season for ten-taggers does not start on Monday, but in November.

– They can change that on this board if they want, they can decide that they can make an exception because the moose looks like this, and that you get permission to shoot it on Monday. There’s also nothing we on the wildlife management team have anything to say about, says Jonas Lundh.
