Brynäs had a tight match against Modo on the legs before the top with Luleå.
And it became too difficult to reload for the league leaders.
Luleå were totally superior and were already 3-0 after the first period, in the match that was played in Piteå.
It did not stay there.
Luleå is nearing the top
The home team rose to 6-2 after two periods following, among other things, two goals from Canada’s Michaela Cava.
The match felt determined and, despite cuts in the intermission period, Brynäs was never able to make a third period match.
Brynäs thus picked up the second defeat of the season, and now Luleå also buttoned at the top of the table.
Luleå is now just two points behind Brynäs and also has one game less played.
– I’m glad we scored a lot of goals. Last weekend we had a chance to close out the game, but now we come here in Piteå and have scored eight goals. We have a lot of situations that we don’t handle and that we can win, I had the feeling there were big numbers, says coach Mikael Forsberg to NSD after the game.
