Last Sunday, the farmer couple were picking mushrooms and lingonberries on their land in Sorunda, outside Nynäshamn, when they came to a rocky outcrop with lots of coniferous forest, about 300 meters from the further road. close.
– It’s usually a cranberry safe place, so I said, “We go up here and check,” says the man.
– Suddenly I saw many green plants. “But look, what the hell is this?” Are they nettles? ”, I thought at first. It was real greenery and smelled sweet.
In the middle of the forest lay three plateaus with about 150 marijuana plants of 50 square meters. In two small greenhouses there were small potted plants and on the ground were rakes and other garden tools.
– They had raked and prepped, so it was really nice and neat. I understood that they were drugs. It felt a bit unreal to see a great production in the forest.
The place was well chosen, he confirms.
– It is a fairly dry land but it becomes quite fertile in the wet spots from the mountain that accumulate humidity, so it becomes like a flowerpot. This was seen because the plants were incredibly green.
The couple decided to go home quickly. Once home, the man immediately called a local policeman and on Tuesday morning a police patrol arrived in the forest to seize the plants.
– While the patrol is standing there, they suddenly hear voices approaching. So they lie down on the blueberry rice, behind a rock, and just wait. Then they watch two men arrive at the farm, says Tomas Jakobsson, head of the preliminary investigation for the Nynäshamn Police.
– They start work, open a greenhouse and talk about plants.
The men, who are in their thirties, could then see with astonishment how two uniformed men stood up and shouted: “It’s the police. You are under arrest! “
– They were surprised and immediately admitted that it was their crop and told a little about the problems they had had with insects and beetles. They were very kind and understanding and didn’t think there was any reason to deny anything, says Tomas Jakobsson.
– One can only say that it was an amazing trip for us and bad luck for them as they used to visit the plantation once a week and showed up exactly at the time the patrol was there.
After a home search another man, who is 60 years old, was arrested. The three men were released after being questioned and are suspected of drug, production and possession crimes.
– Several times every summer we tend to find smaller crops of marijuana, but then there may be ten plants. This was a relatively large crop, says Tomas Jakobsson.
