Lööf calls for stricter restrictions: shopping center closures

Annie Lööf believes that the current restrictions are insufficient.

– We see that we are in a third wave and so that it does not become a tsunami that becomes completely uncontrollable, tough measures must be taken early, says in Agenda.

To prevent the situation from deteriorating further, Lööf wants to see extensive closures of businesses such as shopping malls, shopping centers, and possibly also gyms and restaurants for two to three weeks.

– We want to close businesses where the infection is spreading, but also for companies to receive 100 percent compensation, including salary increases.

You want to see the pandemic coordinator

When asked if a shutdown for a few weeks would really be enough when vaccination is not expected to be completed until the summer, Lööf responds that this is the period of time allowed by pandemic law.

– Then it is the case that each of us must follow the recommendations and restrictions that exist and there we simply have to improve in doing so, each one of us.

The Center Party also wants the government to appoint a pandemic coordinator who will coordinate the work between the government and the regions.

Another proposal that the C-leader wants to present are the recommendations for a more comprehensive use of mouth guards indoors. Lööf generally believes that the government has been too passive in fighting COVID-19.

– In a crisis, you need a government that is proactive, not reactive, and it has been my criticism throughout this time that you, so to speak, have gone one step further.
