More than 60 people have been arrested in London in connection with protests against British restrictions to halt the advance of the corona pandemic.
According to the police, the brawl broke out when they tried to disperse the protesters.
“We expect the number to increase,” London police wrote on Twitter, explaining that various criminal classifications were used in the arrests, including violations of current crown rules.
The videos show protesters and police officers in riots on London’s main shopping street hitting Oxford Street.
When people had previously gathered near Marble Arch on the western side of Oxford Street, the police urged them to leave the area; otherwise they ran the risk of arrest.
England is currently at the end of its second major shutdown to slow the progress of the coronavirus.
Since the pandemic began, more than 57,000 people in the UK have died with confirmed covid-19.
