A threat was received at the Stenungsund Police Station on Monday. The area around the station has been cordoned off. The police are silent on what the threat consisted of, but it must have been directed at the police and the police station.
On Monday, a threat must have arrived at the Stenungsund police station. According to the information, it is classified as an illegal threat.
– A threat was called at 1:50 pm, says Peter Adlersson, press spokesman for the West Police Region.
According to the police, the threat is directed at the police and the Stenungsund police station. But Adlersson does not want to go into what the threat should have consisted of.
– We take it very seriously and that is why we have increased the surveillance of the station.
The area around the police station has been cordoned off and roadblocks have also been extended to apply to Kulturhusparken as well.
According to the information, the task force is also at the Stenungsund site.
– The reinforcements come mainly from the Gothenburg area.
More and more policemen have arrived at the scene. Adlersson says the station has not been evacuated and that, in parallel with the investigation, they are working to locate the person who called the threat.
Several policemen guard the area with automatic weapons.
– We have backup weapons in our cars and if a threat arises, we decide to take them out in case something related to the threat arises.
Peter Adlersson cannot say how long the area will be cordoned off, but advises people to stay out of it.
The police have launched a preliminary investigation into serious illegal threats.
