The government must step up its efforts against the crown crisis, among other things to deal with well-being, writes the LO Board in DN Debatt.
When Sweden has been through the acute crisis, it must equip the country with “fewer insecure jobs, better well-being, safer employees, and investments in building a strong society,” the debaters write.
LO requests at least SEK 30 billion for municipalities and regions annually for social assistance:
“Government grants must increase and be permanent so that municipalities can meet the demographic challenge and resolve the shortage of staff in both elder care and child care and LSS.”
In addition, it wants to strengthen short-term permits and considers, among other things, that the state should allow full-time permits.
The protection of all those who are now unemployed should also be strengthened, among other things, by shortening the processing times for permanent A-cash, the temporarily raised ceiling, considers LO.
It is also written that the state should “substantially increase state subsidies to renovate and upgrade Swedish infrastructure, especially for electricity and data traffic.”
