Rather than gamble with red flags in Malmö, the LO president sits at Sveavägen 68 in central Stockholm and broadcasts digitally from the Social Democratic headquarters.
When the crisis becomes a new daily life, it must be an everyday life where everyone counts. Workers and CEO. A more egalitarian and therefore stronger society, says Thorwaldsson in his speech.
He believes that the battle over the course Sweden should take long will be over how security systems should be designed.

Cash A has been devalued so that it no longer covers the normal working conditions of an ordinary worker, he says.
Cash A must provide security for everyone in everyday life and in crises. It is an unquestionable requirement of LO that the improvements made by Fund A are now permanent.
High unemployment
Thorwaldsson expects 11-13 percent unemployment by the end of the year.

Obviously, it would be crazy to go down to the previous level on January 3, he says.
Temporary changes in the cash account include, among other things, a higher compensation ceiling. But LO also wants the limit after one hundred days with a cash increase from SEK 680 to SEK 1,000 per day.
|
That is a very important requirement for us, says Thorwaldsson.
He believes that the current reduction after 100 days from 1,200 SEK to 680 SEK is too large.
LO warns that many, especially in commerce, but even more high-wage industries that lost their jobs at the start of the crown crisis have already spent their hundred days in August.
However, he is optimistic that the government and cooperation parties C and L will meet LO’s demands.
Totally obsolete
A January agreement between S, MP, C and L states that a more flexible box should be investigated.
It seems to have become totally obsolete. The directives appear to have been written 140 years ago, says Thorwaldsson.
We are the most flexible economy in the world. It would be stupid to remove security.
LO’s first catchphrase is “Safety for Ordinary People”. LO wants a review of health care employment forms.
We must get rid of the eternal hours, the sms jobs and the planning of the working hours. LO is ready to negotiate with employers on this. But we are not going to forbid myself from negotiating the safety of our members, says Thorwaldsson.
After the crisis
LO also wants to see quick decisions on infrastructure investment to stimulate the economy after the crown crisis.
Let’s make sure that the investments we make now, to overcome the crisis and build the country after the crisis, lay the foundation for a more equitable and climate-smart Sweden, he says.
Unions require at least another SEK 30 billion a year for municipalities and regions for welfare.
