Minamino showed the way with his first goal in the Premier League.

Then the goal party continued.

Liverpool crushed Crystal Palace 7-0.

Liverpool leads the Premier League. Crystal Palace is closer to the bottom than it is to the top. On paper, Liverpool would win easily, something they also did.

Liverpool got off to a dream start in Selhurst Park, somewhat sunny indeed. Already after three minutes, the guests went ahead when Sadio Mané put the ball in the penalty area and took out Takumi Minamino, 25, who pushed the ball into goal. The goal was the 25-year-old’s first in the Premier League.

3-0 at halftime

A goal came shortly after 30 minutes and before the break, Liverpool had led 3-0.

The goal? Roberto Firmino received the ball on the counter, played with Andrew Robertson on the left wing, who in turn found his way back to Firmino who, seemingly with ease, rolled the ball to the far corner of Vicente Guaita Panadero.

Two-goal shooter Firmino

The second half started with more classic December weather in London: heavy rain.

However, that did not stop Liverpool from continuing to celebrate the goal. Jürgen Klopp’s decision to eliminate Mané and instead host Salah turned out to be a success, although Mané seemed moderately amused by the decision.

– In a situation like this, I understand that you as a striker get angry. You see the possibility of scoring a couple of goals for free. But it’s not okay to behave like this, says Glenn Strömberg at the Viaplay studio.

In just over half an hour, Salah posted an assist with two goals. Exactly the same result as the hero of the match from the last game against Tottenham, Firmino.

– Salah is an incredibly sharp spiker and it’s important to have him on your team, says Glenn Strömberg.

Liverpool are now into the Christmas break as league leaders for the third year in a row.
