List: the countries of Europe that are opening their borders

Norway

On May 13, citizens of countries within the European Economic Area (EEA) can enter Norway if they own property in the country or if they need to visit relatives. It covers the EU countries, as well as the United Kingdom, Iceland and Liechenstien. However, the 10-day quarantine still applies to all travelers.

Iceland

On May 15, certain professional groups, such as researchers, athletes and filmmakers, are allowed to enter. However, they are expected to choose between testing for the coronavirus upon entry or quarantine for 14 days after arrival.

Starting June 15, the Icelandic government hopes to ease travel restrictions for all foreign visitors.

Germany

On May 16, Germany makes border controls against Austria, Switzerland and France easier for business travelers and families.

The Luxembourg border is fully opened.

Germany also requests free travel within the EU starting June 15.

Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania

On May 15, citizens of the three neighboring countries can travel freely within the Baltic States. Travelers coming from abroad must remain in quarantine for 14 days upon entering the countries.

Austria, Switzerland, France

On May 16, three countries are facilitating their border controls at the German border for business travelers and people visiting relatives.
