Lindgren tops the toilet table | SVT Sport

Fredrik Lindgren has been the same tie with three consecutive finals before Saturday night’s competition at Gorzow.

In his fourth consecutive final, Lindgren took the first victory of the season when he won the final against the Danish Leon Madsen.

Lindgren was at the other end of track four in the final. Inside him were Jason Doyle, Leon Madsen and Emil Sayfutdinov. Doyle took the start, but Lindgren made an impressive maneuver when he slid into the speedy Australian, and he did not give up that advantage.

– I had a terrible adrenaline rush after the finish and a really good feeling. I was in all three finals and I wanted to show that I can also win a World Cup final, it was also important to prove it for myself, says Fredrik Lindgren.

I don’t remember the final heat

When SVT came to Lindgren, he still hadn’t seen how it was going when it won the final tie.

– It was a special moment. I was so in the moment that I don’t remember anything, and I can’t say how I thought when I made that pass, but I just drove. I haven’t seen the heat in hindsight yet either, he says.

Lindgren has found incredible consistency this season and is the only WC series driver to have run all four of the final heats. There is also a lot of basis for the management of the World Cup.

-That I have been so even lies a lot mentally, I would like to say. I try not to think so much about what has been and not what is ahead or my competitors, but I take one series at a time. And that’s something I’ve done well so far, says Fredrik Lindgren.

Won on the nightmare track

And that he is mentally strong, the victory at Gorzow in particular is further proof of that. Edward Jancarz Stadium has not been one of Lindgren’s favorite stadiums in recent years.

– I have had big problems in Gorzow, and I have not won a tie here in four years, neither at the World Cup nor on the league circuit. But those thoughts should be discarded and just get the best of them, where you are right now. But if you’re in good shape and have your head and have material that is good, then I can win in whatever course it is, says Fredrik Lindgren.

Total leader

It was Lindgren’s fifth career World Cup victory, and the first since the victory in Målilla last season.

He currently leads the World Cup table, seven points ahead of current world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik, ahead of the remaining four races in Prague and Torun.

– I try not to think too much about the future. I am very happy with the position I am in and the first four competitions I have done. My ultimate goal is to become world champion, but my focus is on the next competition in Prague and once I’m there, the focus is on every heat, says Fredrik Lindgren about the great position he’s placed in.

The second Swede in the World Cup, Antonio Lindbäck, scored three points and finished in 14th place.
