It is dark as in a sack. It is a pandemic. It’s Tuesday too often. In this misery, Tommy Ankargren tries to throw the straw into the pile to liven up the lives of his neighbors. He himself likes lights and flashing lights childishly. At first, he decorated his house in Svenshögen in Stenungsund in the “normal way”. Some ties of light here and there, tasteful and perfect. But over the years, there have been more and more lamps, figures, and decorations.
– It started to completely derail about ten years ago, then it just continued. I spend at least 5,000 crowns every year on new lamps.
With the electricity bill, however, today it is not so dangerous, because the technology of the lamp has been developed.
– Everything is LED lighting nowadays, so the increase is negligible, it is definitely worth it.
In the area where you live, there is no street lighting half a mile away, so the house really lights up in the dark of winter.
– It becomes a very cool effect when you take the last corner at my house and suddenly you come across this in total darkness.
Now the house is a bit of an attraction that people in the immediate area like to take a detour to experience. Tommy Ankargren has sometimes thought about giving up decorating as it takes a lot of time and energy, but all the positive reactions keep him going year after year.
– Emails and texts start arriving long before Christmas and people wonder when they should light the candles. People come in cars just to watch, because the kids bothered to come here. One heard from him and said it was very important that he turn on this year when Liseberg closed.
So she learns to continue decorating and she is very happy to do so even though it takes a lot of work to put everything in its place.
– It’s pretty sad in the dark and cold, so it feels fun if you can make your surroundings happy with a little light.
