Liberals remain under bloc – S rises in crisis

The Liberals, led by party leader Nyamko Sabuni, find grim numbers on the SvD / Sifo voter barometer for November. The party has fallen below the parliamentary limit for three months in a row.

Voters have moved mainly to the moderates, but also to the party of the partner center. Most of the loss comes from groups where L has been strong in the past, such as Saco members, city dwellers, and men under 50.

– Of course it is a serious situation. We have been low in public opinion since the formation of the government in 2019. This despite more important victories. We will continue to pursue liberal policies for school, climate and integration, party secretary Juno Blom tells SvD.

S benefits from the crisis debate

At the same time, the Social Democrats see a positive turn in the new poll.

When the crown crisis accelerated, the party rose from 23.5 percent in January to 31.7 percent in May. But then, when the debate turned to other topics, such as reading and migration, support declined again.

Now the decline appears to have broken, which is seen as an effect of the debate over the crown being the top priority again. The party gets 27.0 percent in the Svd / Sifo poll, an increase of 0.6 percentage points compared to the October poll.

Thus, S widens the gap to the moderates, who get 20.8 percent, and the Swedish Democrats, who get 19.9 percent.

Greater support for Löfven

Support for leader S Stefan Löfven appears to have followed the same pattern as for the party. After a period of declining confidence, Löfven rose to 40 percent in the latest Expressen / Sifo survey, the highest figure since June.

M’s leader Ulf Kristersson also strengthened his confidence by four percentage points in the Expressen poll, reaching 36 percent.
