Judging from the reported cases, the wave of infections in Skåne is no longer pointing upwards. Recently, the average number of cases in the last seven days has gone from a high of 664 on Friday to 518 on Wednesday.
But Eva Melander, an infection control doctor in the Skåne region, lifts her warning finger in a press release to draw some conclusions from the decline.
– We have a constant spread of social infection and it has not changed yet. It is a serious situation that worries us a lot, he says.
In the press release, it also says that the proportion of test takers has increased.
– That is why it is so important that now everyone participates and follows the new stricter general council that arrived yesterday, he says.
On Wednesday 596 new confirmed cases of covid-19 were reported and 163 are being treated in hospitals, of which 15 are in intensive care. It is a reduction with a patient.
At the same time, no new deaths have been reported.
