There was no lack of intensity, but it was plenty of time to spare when Luleå welcomed Leksand. After two periods, both teams were able to affirm that the result was still 0-0.

– We create situations for ourselves and for Leksand. I think we are a little better, but yes, it is 0-0 …, says Isac Brännström from Luleå on C More.

– It’s a quick game but it’s 0-0. We have to calm down and get the puck into goal, says the visiting team’s Carter Ashton.

Two quick goals decided for Luleå

In the final period, two goals would finally come in one minute.

First it was Chris DeSousa who gave Luleå the lead after four minutes and shortly after Karl Fabricius was sent off and Luleå had to play outnumbered.

With one man less on the ice, Isac Brännström fired a long shot past Janne Juvonen in goal.

Jonas Berglund nailed the coffin with his 3-0 goal and Luleå clinched his fourth consecutive SHL win. For Leksand, the match meant the second loss in a row.
