Leksand beat Luleå after penalizing Mikael Frycklund

It was at the end of the second period, in the midst of a fiery search for a tie in the baseline match between Leksand and Linköping, that the LHC received a match penalty.

“Not well”

Linköping’s Mikael Frycklund delivered a bad tackle from the back to Leksand’s Själin Street, who had his head against the basket. Själin collapsed and was then forced off the ice and Frycklund received a match penalty for “passing behind”.

Then the LHC was forced to play the first four minutes of the third period in boxplay, something Leksand took advantage of and made it 3-1 when Carter Camper pushed the puck from close range.

– That’s not good, it doesn’t look good, says Linköping coach Bert Robertsson about C More’s sending off.

Frycklund had equaled Leksand’s 1-0 lead earlier in the period, but had to see his team fall behind again when Fredrik Forsberg edged Niklas Lundström in the LHC goal with a good shot from first center.

Juvonen’s great game

On Leksand’s goal, Janne Juvonen played big, especially when Leksand at the beginning of the second period was forced to play 3v5 for more than a minute. In the third period, he saved Linköping’s 13 shots and made the bed so the team could play the game.

– Try more and more. He had a difficult start, but today he is doing very well. He has good control of everything that comes from outside and receives good help on the slopes, says Leksand coach Björn Hellkvist in C More.

The match ended 4-1 after Peter Cehlarik scored the last goal from an empty goal.

The victory means Leksand moves up to ninth place while Linköping remains last in the SHL.
